Quincy Car Hire and Winslow Farm Animal Sanctuary

The Winslow Farm Animal Sanctuary is a place that provides “stay-for-life” animal care for mistreated and abandoned animals. It is a charitable organization that was started in 1995 as a non-profit charitable organization, which you can visit with your Quincy car hire.

A place that cares

Winslow Farm opened in 1997 as a petting farm and offered an opportunity for people to interact with the 183 animals that lived there. They also offer a variety of animal-oriented activities that include pony rides, nature hikes and trails, sheep shearing, wool spinning, and special events during the holiday season.

Plan your visit

Winslow Farms Animal Sanctuary is open daily from 11:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. or by appointment when you visit with your Quincy car hire. They are closed on Tuesdays. There are over 200 animals that call this place home and wait for visits.

Family-friendly things in Boston

While you are here with your Quincy car hire, you will find there are many things to keep you and your family busy. The Boston Common Frog Pond Skating Rink is an all-season place to visit. In the winter, you can skate here with the kids, and in the summer, it is a wading pool where kids can splash around in six-inch deep water. It is a great place to visit to cool down on a hot day. There is also a nearby playground where kids can have fun after they cool down. From June through August, there are free films at the Hatch Shell’s Free Friday Flicks. You can go to the Blue Hills Reservation and hike to the Observatory or take a ride over the Zakim bridge and see some of the Big Dig project.

Boston Children’s Museum

The Boston’s Children’s Museum is located on Children’s Wharf along the Fort Point Channel. It is the second-oldest children’s museum in the country, but a great place to visit with your Quincy car hire. There are permanent exhibits that include Arthur & Friends, from the popular books and television series. There is an art studio where you can create art. There is a section that explores Boston’s Black Community and its diversity. Here you can ride a Carnival float, shop at a Dominican store, dance to Cape Verdean beats, and learn about hairstyles at the salon. The Japanese House is a real, two-story house from Kyoto, Japan where visitors can learn about the Japanese family life, culture, architecture, and more. At the Science Playground visitors can learn about the natural world and investigate some of the laws of science. These are just some of the exhibits that the museum has, but there are many, many more to see when you visit with your Quincy car hire.

Throw it into the harbor

In Children’s Wharf, there is a floating museum that is dedicated to the history of the Boston Tea Party when you visit with your Quincy car hire. It is a replica of The Beaver, which was a British ship that was ransacked by the Sons of Liberty during the American Revolution. This is the site of the historical re-enactment of the Boston Tea Party each December 16. If you are here at that time, this is not an event that you will want to miss with your Quincy car hire. However, it is a great place to visit all year long.

The Boston area has many activities for families to enjoy. When you are here with your Quincy car hire, you may want to make a trip to the Winslow Farm Sanctuary to see where abandoned and abused animals are taken in and cared for. You can get up close and personal with them and see some of the activities that take place here such as wool spinning and sheep sheering.
