Established in 1987, the WDCS have offices all over the world including Argentina, Australia, Austria, Germany and the USA, with their main headquarters located in Chippenham in Wiltshire, UK. In 2005, the WDCS North America branch was born. In February of 2007, WDCS North America ‘s headquarters was moved to its current location in Plymouth, Massachusetts. Plymouth was once a whaling port and was a place where Native Americans once feasted on marine mammals. Today, the organization worys in this historic place to protect them. The projects of the WDCS also have several projects located in Asia and the Americas.
Mission
The WDCS is a global non-profit organization dedicated in preserving and protecting whales, dolphins and their habitats. The organization works on several projects including preventing the deliberate killing for commercial and scientific purpose, decreasing the threats of pollution and fishing net entanglements or whales, dolphins and porpoises.
