Getting to know the area
When you are here with your passenger rental van Rockland, you will find that Fall River is a small city along the eastern shore of Mount Hope Bay at the mouth of the Taunton River. During the 19th century, this was a leading textile manufacturing center of the country, which had a large impact on what the city is today. The city is very diverse, with a number of ethnic festivals that take place every year. The largest festival is the Great Holy Ghost Festival, which brings over 200,000 people to Kennedy Park in August. There is also a great Fourth of July Fireworks Festival at Heritage State Park and Battleship Cove, where you can also catch a ride on the historic carousel. You might also want to check out Fall River Heritage State Park while you are here. This is a common place for residents to come and relax to enjoy the sun. In the summer, there are concerts, outdoor movies, and festivals that take place throughout the year. You can also look out onto the USS Massachusetts, which is a World War II battleship.
