The Roger Williams Park Zoo is working hard to increase conservation efforts, both around the world and right at home in New England. As an accredited member of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums, the Roger Williams Park Zoo provides care and rehabilitation services to more than 20 endangered species as part of the Species Survival Plan. Critical species include the red wolf (once extinct in the wild), the African elephant, Matschie's tree kangaroos and the red panda. Visitors to the Zoo are encouraged to follow in the footsteps of zoo staff, participating in on-site educational programs like Zoocamp and the Zoo Lab.
Find your way into the wild
Customers of Verc Boston Car Rentals should have no problem locating the Roger Williams Park Zoo if they utilize the following instructions. From south I-95, take the 17 exit onto Elmwood Avenue (if you're traveling from the north on I-95 take exit 16). Turn left at the light. Continue for about 1/2 a block. You will see the park's entrance on the left. Follow the signs to the zoo entrance. From I-195, exit onto the I-95 and follow the above directions.
The Roger Williams Park Zoo is open every day from 9amm to 4pm during the fall and winter and from 9am to 5pm during the spring and summer. General admission to the zoo is just $13 for adults, $6 for children 3 to 12 and $8 for seniors. Admission is free for children under the age of 3. Providence resident customers of Verc Boston Car Rentals can enjoy free admission on the first Saturday of the month. On New Year's Day, admission is free for everyone.
