Enjoy peace and quite

There are many things to see and do right here in Quincy. One escape is the Old House, which was the residence of President John Adams and his family for four generations. It was where he lived with his family, including son John Quincy Adams, who would also become president.

The oldest part of the house was built in 1731 by a sugar-planter from Jamaica. When the Adams took it over in 1787 it had been abandoned during the Revolutionary War. It was quite small, but Abigail extended it and made it much more livable over time.

The house was given to the United States in 1946 and is now open to the public as part of the Adams National Historic Park, which also includes John Adams and John Quincy Adams birthplaces and the United First Parish Church where the presidents and their wives are buried.

Quincy, the "City of Presidents" is a small town only a few miles from Boston with your Quincy car rental. This was where John Adams and John Quincy Adams made their home, which is still an important part of the town. While you are here, you will find peace and quiet, while at the same time you can travel into the city for more exciting attractions and nightlife.
