Boston is one of the oldest cities in the United States, so when you visit with your cheap car rental Boston, there are many things for you to learn here. The city was founded on September 17, 1630 by Puritan colonists from England. These are not the same people who founded Plymouth County ten years before, the Pilgrims. The two groups were distinct and were not united until the formation of the Province of Massachusetts Bay in 1691. Before European colonization, the area was inhabited as early as 5000 B.C. The Puritans had a stable and well-structured society, and founded the first public school in the country in 1635. Boston was the largest town in British North America until the mid-18th century. Boston was the site of many historical events, including the Boston Tea Party, the Battle of Bunker Hill, and more.
