About the Forest Park Zoo
The Forest Park Zoo is a nonprofit organization situated inside the 735 acre woodland park of Springfield. Animals you'll see at the zoo

Finally, you'll take a trip past black bears, porcupines, skunks, and the ring tailed lemurs.
Adopt an animal during your visit
Every animal needs someone to love them ?even exotic animals at the Forest Park Zoo! There are over 200 animals at the Forest Park Zoo, and each one is in need of an adoptive parent. The zoo offers Massachusetts car rental travelers the opportunity to become even closer to the animals by assisting with the cost of their food and care. Individuals and groups can adopt an animal at the zoo for as little as $25. Adoption benefits include an adoption certificate, an animal fact sheet, and bumper sticker. Massachusetts car rental traveler's that donate more than $500 for an animal adoption will also receive and photo of their adoptive animal, two train passes, recognition on the Forest Park Zoo website, a digital wallpaper, commemorative brick at the zoo, and an Animal Cracker Coupon. Hours of operation and admission to the zoo
The Forest Park Zoo is open April through October (weather permitting). The hours of operation at 10am to 5pm. From Mid October through the end of November, the operating hours are reduced from 10am to 3:30pm. The zoo is closed December through March. Massachusetts car rental travelers should expect to pay $6 admission for adult visitors. Children up to the age of 4 are admitted for $2, while children up to age 1 are admitted for free. Seniors received a $2 discount on adults tickets, as do children ages 5 through 12. Train ride tickets are $3, and animal food packages are $1.50.
