Massachusetts Car Rental and D.W. Field Triathlon, Brockton

Have you ever wanted to experience a feeling of triumph and success so great that it overcomes your entire body? Have you ever wanted to compete in something for the benefit of someone else, as opposed to yourself? Have you ever wanted to have that feeling that Lance Armstrong had. You know, the one when he crossed the finish line of the Tour de France in first place for the seventh time? If you have ever had the desire to experience these once in a lifetime moments, you can surely accomplish them if you compete in the D.W. Field Triathlon. On your upcoming Massachusetts car rental vacation, you can sign up to be in this event that consists of biking, running and boating. You will be competing for a charity event, but you will never forget that moment when you cross the finish line and realize that you have accomplished something extraordinary. Why not give it a shot?

You can be a triple threat

The 3rd annual triathlon will take place on September 23 this year. The race will start at 9:00am whether it raining or the sun is shining. There are no refunds, so make sure you absolutely want to be involved in this. It will be held at the D.W. Field Park and the profits will benefit the Brockton Neighborhood Health Center. The race consists of biking, running and boating so you will have to be sure you have the proper equipment for all of these events. There are numerous companies that sponsor this event. You can even come check it out and just watch if you don't want to participate on your Massachusetts car rental trip.

You can make it work

Do you like to run and ride your bicycle but have no idea what to do when it comes to tackling a boat? No need to worry, Massachusetts car rental customers because the triathlon can help you. The main goal of the event is for people to have fun, not to see who is the best boater, rider or runner. The race opens with a 14.5 mile bike ride and moves to a 1.7 mile kayak/canoe leg. You will finish off with a 10K run to the finish line. If you don't know how to do something or one of the events isn't quite your specialty, you can enter in a group. You can choose a team of up to 4 people and use a tandem technique to complete the race. Whether you are competing or observing, it's a great way to spend a day doing something entertaining.

How did it all come to be?

The D.W. Field Park was created by D.W. Field himself. He was an industrialist and a farmer who created a thriving shoe factory. He donated 800 acres of land to Brockton and proposed the idea of a park. The park contains the world popular Fuller Craft Museum and it provides a place where visitors and locals can come to get away from city life. There is also a golf course, pathways for walking, ponds and lakes. As the triathlon participants are going about their competition, they will pass by many historical sites. They will pass by regions where the Puritans and Pilgrims worked and they will travel along the boundary of the original thirteen colonies. It's a great educational experience, Massachusetts car rental customers.

Get it while it's hot!

There are a few new things being added to the race for 2007, Massachusetts car rental vacationers. The boat course is longer this year and there are two new divisions to be entered. There are bike attendants who will watch your bicycles while you compete in the other areas of the race. There are numerous post-race activities added this year like awards and raffles. There is also a huge and free post-race dinner of pizza, fruit, sweets, pasta and drinks. With all of these incentives, how could you not want to enter the 3rd annual D.W. Field Triathlon?
