This unique zoo facility is home to many of the traditional agricultural animals you'd expect to find on a farm, along with some unexpectedly exotic animals too! Whether you're petting animals at the large "hands-on" area, or encountering birds of prey in the wildlife encounter zone, there's something for everyone at Charmingfare Farm. Interesting Animal Facts
Charmingfare Farm is home to more than 200 animals, including 40 different species. These animals are broken down into two main categories – Wildlife and Farm Animals. Wildlife animals include many species native to New England, like the porcupine, river otter, skunk, and wolf. Wolverines, lynx, and black bears are also on display inside this wooded area of the farm. Massachusetts rental car travelers will find all their favorite farm animals at Charmingfare as well, including alpacas, cattle, chickens, and donkeys. Rabbits, turkeys, ducks, goats, horses, and even the odd peacock can also be found roaming the farm grounds for visitors to see.
Hit the trails at Charmingfare Farm
A visit to the farm wouldn't be complete with a quick horseback ride on one of Charmingfare's fantastic guided horseback trails. Enjoy the fresh air and take in the beautiful scenery atop one of the farm's famous steeds. Whether you're a skilled rider or first time cowboy, there's nothing to worry about when riding this friendly beasts. The picturesque riding trails at Charmingfare pass through pastures and meadows, and include a great view of grazing livestock. From there, it's onto an old logging road that leads you deep into the delightful forests of New England. While riding through the foliage, keep an eye out for coyotes, wild turkeys, and foxes – all have been spotted on previous guided rides. Massachusetts rental car travelers will enjoy about an hour and a half out on the trails when participating in a guided ride, and should remember to arrive early in order to meet their four-legged trail mates. Trail rids cost $60 per person, and children must be at least 10 years of age and accompanied by a parent in order to participate.
Learn about the CSA
Charmingfare Farm proudly provides local shoppers with quality homegrown produce thanks to the Community Support Agriculture program (CSA). This subscription based programs encourages Massachusetts rental car residents to buy local, by selling shares of the regular harvest. Subscribed members pick up their produce during the 18 weeks between June and October. Members fill their garden bags themselves, choosing whatever they want or need. A limited supply of eggs and meats are also sold separately at the market. As a member of the CSA program, the Charmingfare farm happily supports the community in three key ways.
1) By supporting the local food bank. Uncollected food is delivered to the food bank while it's still fresh.<.br>
2) By supporting local youth associations programs. Much of the labor at Charmingfare farm is provided by programs that aim at helping young people get a good start in life.
3) By promoting local farmers through the sale of locally grown produce.
Directions to Charmingfare
Charmingfare Farm is located at 774 High Street in Candia, New Hampshire. If you're traveling from Interstate 93 in your Massachusetts rental car, VERC recommends exiting at the 9N exit. Continue until you reach the third set of lights, and then turn right onto Route 27 heading east. Charmingfare Farm is about 4 ½ miles on the righthand side. If you're on Route 1010, Take Exit 3 (Route 43 Candia) and follow the signs directing you to Route 27. Hang a left onto Route 27, headed west. Charmingfare Farm is approximately 3 miles to the left.
