Located in downtown Worcester, Massachusetts, the DCU Center, formerly known as The Centrum, Centrum in Worcester and Worcester¡¯s Centrum Centre is an indoor arena and convention center complex. Early beginnings

The opening of the DCU Center, originally known as the Centrum in Worcester went through several construction delays until it was officially opened in September 1982. Frank Sinatra played the first concert in this new center with a capacity of 12, 000. In 1989, the arena was expanded to seat 14, 800 people. 300 ? level balconies were also added. In 1997, a convention center was added along with a renovation of arena infrastructure in 1997. These upgrades resulted in changing the facility¡¯s name to the Worcester Centrum Center.

Time for some more change

In 2004, the naming rights of the facility were purchased by DC, Digital Federal Credit Union. The new name also meant new upgrades to the facility including new signage inside and outside the facility, and a new center ? hung video scoreboard for the arena bowl. On June 3, 2009 announcements were made that the DCU Center would undergo more renovations including a new electrical system, new ice chillers, and new ice floors.

A big home
