The Captain Bangs Hallet House Museum is the only sea captain’s home that is regularly open to visitors. When you visit with your car rental Cape Cod, you will get a look at what life was like for a family in the 19th century that lived life by the sea. The museum is arranged like the captain has just arrived back from a voyage to China, which would have lasted 16-18 months at the time. There are gifts of silk, toys, porcelain, and tea on display, as well as costumes from the period. Docents will take you through the museum and tell tales of the captain’s life at sea.
