Massachusetts Car Rental and Boston Harbor

Boston Harbor is a fun place to visit with your whole family when you are in the area with your Massachusetts car rental. Not only is it one of the best marinas in the city where you can enjoy some deliciously cool ice cream, but there is a national park where you can enjoy the natural habitat and cruises through the are with chartered boats. Whether you are here to relax on the water or to explore the natural surroundings, there is much to keep you busy once you leave your Massachusetts car rental.

Blaze a path to freedom

Constitution Marina is located on the freedom trail in the Charlestown neighborhood of Boston. It is located close to water transportation and all major highways if you are traveling with your Massachusetts car rental. In the summer this is an especially popular destination for people who are looking to enjoy boating from all over New England. Even if you do not have a boat, then you can hop on a ferry for an adventure to the Boston Harbor Islands.

Open for you to explore

When you come to Boston Harbor with your Massachusetts car rental, then one thing you may want to explore are the Boston Harbor Islands. This is made easy when you take a ferry that departs every hour from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. from Long Wharf at Christopher Columbus Park. If you are here on the weekend, there is also service to Lovells Island if you are adventurous enough to spend the night camping. Some of the other great islands that you can visit daily include:

  • Georges Island - home to Fort Warren and views of the outer harbor. You can explore the grounds of the fort on your own or take a tour.
  • Spectacle Island - a new addition to the park system featuring a solar-power visitor center. There are beautiful walking paths and excellent beaches for the summer months.
  • Lovells Island - a great place to go camping with your family on the weekends. There are beautiful beaches, woods, fields, and fortifications found here.
  • See the majestic ocean beasts

If you are in Boston during certain times of the year (namely in the spring and the fall), then you may be able to book a whale watching tour. These beautiful mammals can be seen from the Voyager III at Stellwagen Bank. There is a naturalist on board who will describe these mammals in their natural habitat. Sightings are guaranteed!

Boston Harbor has many different activities that will keep you busy when you are visiting with your Massachusetts car rental. From exploring the islands on foot to making your way far out to sea by boat to see the passing whales, you are sure to appreciate life on the water and all that is found above and below it. Visiting Boston Harbor is a great way to spend the day while you are in this city.
