It’s all in the name
The Dr. W. Russell Blake Planetarium is named after the first and only Planetarium Director, Dr. W. Russell Blake who retired on June 30, 2000. Dr. W. Russell Blake was a teacher who was a known for his ability to connect with his students and his leadership in the community. It was under Dr. W. Russell Blake’s guidance and leadership that the Blake Planetarium and Plymouth Public Schools have become renowned for their students’ academic accomplishments in astrophysics on the world stage.
Reach for the stars
The Blake Planetarium acts as both a museum and a science centre. When you visit Blake Planetarium with your Plymouth rental car, you will be able to see the night sky from anywhere in the world at any time and day of the year through the planetarium projector. Regardless of age, astronomy encompasses several subjects including science, mathematics, and social studies which is bound to attract the interest of any visitor
Plan your visit
The Blake Planetarium is located at Plymouth Community Intermediate School, 117 Long Pond Rd. Public Astronomy programs are held every Thursdays from 7:00 to 8:00 pm. However, be sure to check ahead to avoid any disappointment when you travel with your Plymouth rental car as school vacations and weather conditions may affect the schedule. Admission is a donation of $2.50 for children, students, and senior citizens and $4.00 donation for adults.
