The Dr. W. Russell Blake Planetarium is named after the first and only Planetarium Director, Dr. W. Russell Blake who retired on June 30, 2000. Dr. W. Russell Blake was a teacher who was a known for his ability to connect with his students and his leadership in the community. It was under Dr. W. Russell Blake’s guidance and leadership that the Blake Planetarium and Plymouth Public Schools have become renowned for their students’ academic accomplishments in astrophysics on the world stage.

The Blake Planetarium acts as both a museum and a science centre. The Blake Planetarium is located at Plymouth Community Intermediate School, 117 Long Pond Rd. Public Astronomy programs are held every Thursdays from 7:00 to 8:00 pm. Admission is a donation of $2.50 for children, students, and senior citizens and $4.00 donation for adults.
