Turner, Camile Corot, Kaethe Kolwiz, and Rembrandt von Rijn. Carl's interest soon expanded to include Shaker furniture, American paintings, and Asian art. There are works by Sanford Gifford, Charles Burchfield, and George Bellows. It was his wife that encouraged him to build a museum to house the growing collection of art and to share it with others. To get here from Boston, follow Route 3 to exit 11, Route 14. Bear right at the end of the exit ramp and stay on 14 through Rotary. Keep right at the fork after the police station and continue to the lights at Route 3A/14 intersections. Make a right on 3A and take the first left onto Alden Street (about 1/4 mile up the road).
